The MFA continues to have only virtual monthly meetings which are normally the fourth Tuesday of each month.  These are being supplemented by several “Field Trip” events during the year.  Normally the field trips will be on a Saturday morning to see a department’s apparatus and their stations.  We will then plan to have lunch together.  Remember, the monthly meetings of the MFA will be conducted “virtually”. 

The access code and directions for access to the meeting will be provided via separate e-mail.   Once provided, we encourage you to load the link and try it.  If your computer has a camera when you open the link, you should see yourself.  Play with it as you are not connected to anything.  Doing this will get you used to the system.  Once you do this, click on “Join the meeting” and you will be all set to attend.

For our June speaker we are honored to have Dr. James J. Augustine, M.D., FACEP.    Dr. Augustine is the Medical Director for the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC). He is an active Fire EMS Medical Director, serving as the Medical Director for Lee County EMS in Fort Myers, Florida. 

He also serves as Medical Director for:

•           Fort Myers Fire Department

•           Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue

•           North Collier Fire Rescue

•           Washington Township Fire Department

He is the former Medical Director for Atlanta Fire Rescue, as well as for Forest Park, Morrow, City of South Fulton, Hapeville, Fayetteville, and Riverdale.

He is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.
